Hello,

My hubby's suffering pretty badly from sciatica (no doubt caused by too many hours in front of the computer) I am suffering too lRollEyes I know I should be more understanding but would be grateful if anyones got any tips re sciatica asap. Hes also having troube sleeping and cant get comfortable. Hes had baths and ibuprofen and nothing seems to really help. Hes had it several times before so its obviously chronic but has not management strategy to deal with it.

Big thanks

Hello

Only once had anything similar myself, thankfully, but know how painful and distressing it can be.

The BBC website may offer some ideas. There is a section on treatment.

Hope your husband finds some relief soon.

My son, Ian, completed the BUPA Great North Run on 15th September running for the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS). You can read his story at http://www.justgiving.com/ianlukewilson

I get sciatica from time to time and the thing I find helps best is an exercise to open up the spine to help release the trapped nerve.
It's a standard yoga exercise where you get on all fours and then arch your back up at the same time as lowering your head-but SLOWLY!
I then reverse it - head up and back concave.SLOWLY and just repeat a few times ending on the arched back one then get up SLOWLY!
YES I'VE CHANGED, PAIN DOES THAT TO PEOPLE.
